I like the new Spiderman Movies (I was personally involved as vfx coordinator at the first part), so I’m very impressed how they handled the spectacular sparks and flashes and the first appearence of the Green Goblin.
Moving Castles, Forest Spirits and Master Thiefs – legendary japanese director and animator Hayao Miyazaki brought us fantastic worlds and cult figures. After 50 years of creating fantastic anime films, he announced in 2013 that The Wind Rises would be his last film. A tribute…
First official trailer for Automata, the new sci-fi movie from spanish director Gabe Ibanez. I had different impressions after watching – I think the look of Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium comes very close to Automata. But in the face of the story it’s very familiar to the visionary film Blade Runner.
These two movies are good examples for using practical effects in larger scales. The practical stuntwork of Spiderman swinging looks incredible.
In Inception Christopher Nolan unleashed a whole train (without visual effects!)
I’m looking forward to see this crazy space opera (have a look on the incredible b-roll footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR_9RqmuuLQ)
First look on the alien concept art; I hope we’ll see more of the great concept art within the next weeks.
Incredible featurette about the picture language and editing of Satoshi Kon’s animated films.
