I like the new Spiderman Movies (I was personally involved as vfx coordinator at the first part), so I’m very impressed how they handled the spectacular sparks and flashes and the first appearence of the Green Goblin.

These two movies are good examples for using practical effects in larger scales. The practical stuntwork of Spiderman swinging looks incredible.
In Inception Christopher Nolan unleashed a whole train (without visual effects!)
